We are thrilled to announce the success of the Basketball4Liam fundraiser, held during Maigh Cuilinn’s SuperLeague game against Sligo on Saturday, January 6th. The event was organized to support Liam Davoren, a valued member of our community and a former player who suffered a life-changing injury last year. All proceeds from the game were dedicated to the “Hope4Liam” fundraising initiative, aimed at assisting Liam and his family on their road to recovery.
The game turned out to be an exciting and closely contested match, with Maigh Cuilinn emerging victorious with a final score of 74 to 63. Maigh Cuilinn displayed exceptional defensive skills, holding Sligo All-Stars to their season-low score (see Match Report); the thrilling performance on the court was matched by the overwhelming support from the huge home crowd, who turned out to back Liam and his family.
We are extremely grateful to everyone who attended the game and contributed to the fundraiser. Your generosity and solidarity have helped us raise over €5,350 for the Hope4Liam campaign.
We would also like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the players, coaches, and staff who dedicated their time and effort to make Basketball4Liam a resounding success.
